Connected Canyon County initiative enters final phase
VRT has begun the final phase of the Connected Canyon County initiative where we share what we’ve learned and get feedback on future services and programs. Learn more about the initiative below!
What
Since July 2021, VRT has been working with leaders and community partners on an initiative called Connected Canyon County. We’ve worked to understand needs and identify transportation options that improve access to important destinations and activities in Canyon County while considering potential funding challenges.
Why
Transportation and mobility are the means to improve quality of life for all who live, work, learn, play, worship, and seek services across our region. Unprecedented growth is putting additional pressure on an already tight housing market. The lack of affordable housing is pushing residents farther away from jobs, food, healthcare, education, and recreation. Canyon County is a place where neighbors help neighbors and organizations work together to improve life for everyone.
Now what
We’re applying what we heard to real-life scenarios: bus service, customer support systems, and more. We want your feedback to guide where we direct our efforts! There are 3 ways to engage:
- Online: Our Engage VRT platform lets you participate and provide feedback when it is convenient for you!
- In-person Open Houses: Want to talk to VRT staff face-to-face? We will be at the Happy Day Transit Center (5907 W. Cleveland Blvd., Caldwell, ID) for open houses over the next few weeks!
- Virtual Town Halls: Would you prefer a virtual presentation-style session? These are for you.
