VRT is excited to partner with the City of Boise to provide free bus passes to youth 18 and under, traveling in and around the City of Boise, from May 1 to August 31, 2026.
This pilot program, designed for the summers of 2026 and 2027, is funded by the City of Boise through a grant from the Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation and advances goals in the City’s 2025 Youth Roadmap, which calls for reducing transportation barriers so young people can access opportunities across the region.

A collaboration between the City of Boise and VRT, Youth Ride Free is a summer bus pass that gives youth 18 and under the freedom and opportunity to explore their cities while learning about and experiencing public transportation.
